Beschreibung, Aufgabenstellung

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

The person will have frequent contact with staff & students, providing troubleshooting for ICT supported applications and services of iPads by analysing problems and providing problem resolutions. To handle support requests, he or she is backed by an electronic help desk system. In particular, he/she responds to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone or electronically, diagnoses and resolves technical hardware and software issues, researches questions using available ICT BIS information resources and gives advise to the user on appropriate action by following the standard help desk procedures.

The individual supports ICT in the classrooms and maintains technology assigned to classrooms such as iPads and associated technology as needed. This person will mainly be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and deploying school iPads, including the documentation of the workflow, assets and inventory. The person will ensure that the acceptable use policy is followed is actively monitoring appropriate use of school network services / apps in daily school operations. Working closely with the Educational Technology Coordinator will be essential.

As a representative of the ICT Department, this person will be able to cover core tasks of daily operation in the ICT Department, as prescribed by the supervisor. The person is interfacing with community members such as parents and provides user-level training on operational facilities in the field of media-competence.

The person will assist with ICT projects as needed and assists with strategic planning of iPad use throughout the school. It is expected that this person will contribute building Bonn International School into a world-class educational facility.


Qualifikationen

Preferred Education & Qualification:
  • tertiary IT qualification such as Apple Certified Support Professional and iPad Technical Training (ASTO course)
  • ability to train staff and students in the appropriate use of iPad applications
  • has preferably worked in Apple and/or educational environments before
  • working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software such as iOS, OS X
  • excellent fluent oral and written communication skills in both English and German
  • customer service orientation
  • adaptability to multi-task and to work effectively as part of a team
  • requires developed analytical skills
  • stress tolerance
Hinweis: Die Position ist - wie alle unsere Stellen - zunächst auf zwei Jahre befristet. Nach den zwei Jahren ist eine unbefristete Anstellung vorgesehen.
